Doosan ahead of schedule with hybrid excavator

Doosan Infracore will launch a hybrid excavator in 2012, two years ahead of its previously announced 2014 target.The hybrid excavator will be a 22 tonne model and will burn 35 per cent less fuel when compared to the DX225 standard hydraulic excavator. Doosan expects that the equipment will save approximately $18,000 in fuel costs per unit per year. This is based on a 22t-class excavator operating 10 hours per day, 200 days per year, with diesel priced at $1.36 per litre.
